The 2200 series printers inherit the innovative qualities of the family of HP printers that includes the LaserJet 4P, 5P, 6P, and 2100 which introduced features like the instant-on power fuser (zero seconds of warm up time!), the latest in infrared technology, internal JetDirect card capability, built in PostScript and language switching, and increasingly fast print speed at ever higher resolutions.

Paper handling: In-built automatic duplex unit, plus two paper input trays that provide a total of 350 sheets of paper input. Tray 1 is a 100-sheet/10 envelope multipurpose input tray for automatic feeding, as well as and manual feeding of special media. Tray 2 is an adjustable 250-sheet input tray with paper input level indicators, straight-through paper path, for standard sizes of paper. Standard output capacity of 150-sheets (face-down). expandable with either the optional 250-sheet input tray for standard-sized paper, for a total of 600 sheets of input (C4793A), or the optional 500-sheet input tray for standard sizes and A4 paper, giving a total of 850 sheets of input (C7065A). One or the other can be installed as Tray 3. Two output bins: select either the top output bin or the rear output bin for the most convenient output location. The Face-Down Output Bin, located on the top of the printer, has a 150-sheet capacity of 20-pound paper.
